Current Advisor for Power Sales & Trading in the GMR Group, Mr. Amarinder Kumar Maggu joins New Age Markets in Electricity private limited’s Strategic Advisory Board. He has actively associated with the facilitation of Power tie up and Power Purchase & Power Sale Agreements for GMR’s Thermal & Hydro Power Assets in India & Nepal for Supply of Power to Utilities in India, Nepal & Bangladesh. He has also successfully facilitated the MOU for Sale of Power from upcoming 900 MW GMR Hydro Power Plant in Nepal to Bangladesh (through India) & a Discom in India.

Being a senior Executive, Mr. Maggu has brought with him his capabilities of achieving challenging targets and has delivered towards the financial and business development of the company. For over six years from November 2009, he played a crucial role in creating guidelines and bidding mechanism for the selection and allocation of Solar Power Projects under the phase 1 of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. The idea curated for JNNSM is adopted in several states of India as well as has gained an International recognized and is being adopted by others in other countries for the similar process of functioning.

Mr, Maggu holds an M. Tech. in Management & Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and a Mechanical Engineering degree from Regional Engineering College (Now-National Institute of Technology). He later joined NTPC Ltd. as an Executive Trainee in the year 1978 and holds an experience of over 39 years in various fields like project Execution, Consultancy, Commercial, Marketing, Business Development and Contracts.
